The interior is French country chic with neutral hues throughout. On the ground floor, the spacious dining room and graceful sitting room span the width of the cottage creating a great space for family gatherings. Both have wood burning stoves making this a great choice to winter breaks too. The kitchen is at the rear of the dining room for easy living and there is also a bunk bedroom on this level plus cloakroom with WC.Up on the first floor are three picture perfect bedrooms straight out of homes and gardens magazine; a master with king size bed, a twin room plus a single. All are furnished with pretty fabrics and luxury linens. The family bathroom is also on the first floor with freestanding claw foot bath, large rain shower and sumptuous towels!
The gardens are very special at Sea Cliff Cottage. As the name suggests the cottage is set into the cliff side so the gardens span several levels. At the front of the cottage beyond the veranda and parking area is a sunken terrace and seating area with wooden dining set, barbecue and patio heaters – perfect for alfresco suppers. Accessed from the first floor level, steps lead up to the various terraces, one with barbecue and drinks fridge the next with an incredible stone dining table and fabulous countryside views. The upper terrace is a wild meadow grass orchard with a trampoline which little ones will adore.
Pentewan is a pretty seaside village with a friendly atmosphere. The village is home to a grocery store, gift shop and more importantly a pub and a café. The village and harbour date back to medieval times but now the harbour is completely cut off from the sea.Pentewan Beach is wide and sandy and is a great place for sunbathing, swimming and surfing. If you are keen to experience more watersports then canoes and dinghies can be hired from the nearby holiday park which is also home to a leisure centre with indoor swimming pool. Just over two miles away Mevagissey can be reached by foot along the south west coast path or in no time by car. A traditional Cornish harbour, the village is home to some lovely cafes, restaurants and shops to explore. In the summer months you can take the water taxi to Fowey where you will discover winding lanes, boutique shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants dotted around this pretty town where pastel coloured buildings tumble down to the waterside.
